The CASA GRANDE Hotel is located in Ilidza, "one of the prettiest places on the Earth ", as E.B.Lanin wrote in “The Contemporary Review” in 1894 in London.
The name Ilidza is of Turkish origin and means spa. However, even the ancient Romans bathed in the healing springs of sulfur water that reached temperature of 58 degrees Centigrade on the surface.
The hotel is located in the beginning of a 3.5 km avenue that leads to the Vrelo Bosne (the Spring of river Bosna), through an avenue 3000 trees of plane and chestnut.
Just there, in the slopes of the mountain Igman, is where the spring of river Bosna is located, the river which gave this country its name.
The crystal clear water, before it breaks to the light of the day, runs through a compact mountain massif, gathering the smell of flowers and the taste of wild strawberries. Many people think that one cannot find a healthier drink anywhere else in the world.
